JOB DESCRIPTION


JOB TITLE: Office Co-Ordinator

CLASSIFICATION: Part time: 28-40 hours per week
REPORTS TO: President and VP of the North Fraser Metis Association
HOURS: Flexible schedule/Hybrid opportunity
WAGE: $25.00 per hour
TERM: Contract of one year to start

JOB SUMMARY:

The Office Coordinator provides support for the North Fraser Métis Community and President and VP. Reviews and directs enquiries to the appropriate party for resolution. Prepares funding proposals and documentation related to events and activities of the community. Assists in the organization and maintenance of management’s agenda, meetings, conferences, and travel schedules. Prepares materials for and attends meetings and community events. Conducts minor bookkeeping duties under the supervision of the Board Treasurer and President.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Grade 12 plus post-secondary certificate program in Business Administration or Customer Service and 2 plus years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools and social media.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

POSITION AND CENTRE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to prioritize work to align with the requirements identified by the NFMA management. 
  • Analyze and direct the flow of communication including responding to information requests from management and the Community in a timely manner.
  • Maintains electronic appointment calendar for management.
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks and book keeping practices.
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.
  • Completes reports and proposals and assists with organizing community events and Board meetings.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy when performing tasks.
  • Must be able to work independently in an open office environment.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
